Hi peeps,

I have just noticed on my wage slips that they have my HI ending with a C but when sorting out my old bills and paperwork i found my NI Numbercard which says my NI ends with an A. What impact does this have? If any..

Hey

The last character of a 9 character NI Number, actually has no significance nowadays.

The last character was always a letter and was either A, B, C or D.

It was used when employers used to buy NI stamps for their employees and stick them onto a quarterly NI stamp card. Each quarter had a letter either A, B, C or D and the employer would amend the final character to signify which quarters card he was submitting to the NI agency.
