Can anyone give me some help I have just purchased a Mercedes 220 CDI with an audio 10 CD head unit, I am looking at the best way to connect my Ipod to the car. I have a number of different options but nearly all of them have down sides to them.
The audio 10 head unit does not have input jacks on the back
Option one
Put the head unit from my old car in, this unit has got inputs on it but I will not be able to use the controls from my steering wheel. = COST £0
Option two
Buy the new alpine head unit and have that fitted this unit is made for the Ipod but again I will lose the option to control the head unit from the steering wheel. = COST £269
Option three
Get a radio transmitter for the top of the Ipod and tune the audio 10 head unit into that frequency. (They don’t work that well) = COST £30
Option four
Buy a special fiber optic cable for the car, have it fitted then I can keep the current head unit and use my Ipod and the steering wheel = COST £290
Option five
Leave the car alone and don’t put the Ipod in. = COST £0
Thanks for any help :thumbs
