hi just got me a p4 3gh laptop what kind of battery life should i get ? at the minute iam not getting very long thx

Battery life is dependant on quite a few variables.

Having recently just purchased/searched for new laptops I can honestly say I have not seen any P4 3.0Ghz mobil cpu's. Therefore you ont get as much battery life compared to the M series.

Mine is the 3.0Ghz Celeron and I get approx (rough estimation really though as I havent timed it) 2 hours.

With the M (mobile) series you would expect to get another hour or so on top of that m8.

hi its a p4 3gh 256mb ram dvd rewriter wireless bluetooth infared 40g hard drive cost 499 from macro .580 with vat,but battery not lasting long lol like me in bed lol any help

It's new right (guess it has to be if it's 3Ghz)? Cos my 2 year old 1.6Ghz P4 laptop lasts 15mins max with all the power save options on! New batteries are so expensive!

As I understand it, although battery life is improving the extra power needed to run more advanced multimedia stuff on laptops (powerful graphics cards, DVDRW's etc) keeps battery performance at about the same level - ie about 2-3 hours.

ive got an M an it runs for about 3 1/2-4 hours on low lcd brightness, minimum cpu speed etc

battery life will diminish if u leave it plugged into the mains all the time, as happened with my medion (battery life only 2hrs in the first place due to not having a mobile chip). u can build up battery life agen by letting it the battery charge up fully, then run it on battery til it turns itself of, then recharge it fuly nd do it agen etc etc. after a while battery will be at top performance agen

Yeah I think I have killed my battery also a P4 3.06Ghz it isnt an M processor it usd to last about 2 hours tops usually about 1:30 which was fine as It is plugged in most of the time, I am now trying to wipe the battery memory by charging and discharging, it is lasting about 15 minutes no before shuting down
