Got to say I have a 28 inch Philips TV that is 3 years old and the it is utter crap (as in faults). First 3 years were ok... but then the power switch had to be replaced. Now I have intermittent flicking on/off of picture. Five visits to the repair shop and it still hasn't been fixed. Seriously thinking of chucking it in the bin and buying a new one (not philips after only 3 years!)

i wouldnt knock philips, afterall they invented everything near enough lol

We had one of there t.vs and only thing happened to it in the 16 years was 2 (£50) line out put transformers.

its the best t.v we had. it was so advanced for its time that it had scart and FST before people knew what it was for lol

But the best and most amazing things was this, We had the t.v from new and remote etc. the remote came with 3 batteries which were made by philips. Untill the day we got ridof the t.v, the same batteries were being used from new!!!!!! :coffee:

i still dont get it and still wonder to now how the hell it lasted 16 years!! was going to send them a letter.

I got a Hitachi widescreen 28" as its replacement and had it 6 years. in that time the remote has already packed up and the unit had to be fixed due to bad soldering lol

oh well i would defo buy another philips or a sony etc
