Sachs are dogs. Some mates have had them, spares are impossible to get. If you want fast (for a 125) go for a jap 2 stroke, nsr, tzr, ar (bit old), if you want a more reliable, and cheeper to run bike go for a 4 stroke maybe a yammy tw, suzuki dr. I dont like the cbr 125, tiny, and not really got any speed to back up the looks. Or how about a honda varadero 125, v twin.

Do it in style, get a classic shape vespa. If you need a bit of speed stick a big bore kit on it.

it would make sense to go to your new place of work on a bike. Last june i had the urge to do my motorbike test. i did the CBT one wednesday afternoon with my dad then 1 week later did my theory test and the week after that i did my unrestricted full test. The best thing ive ever done! cant get enough!!

The first bike i had was a CG 125 which was brilliant to learn on, it had plenty of poke and was kinda fun to ride. full tank about £8 and it ran forever! it was a kick start but first time every time. im bettin if ya do take ur CBT and get on a 125 you'll get the bug and want a bigger and better bike!

    hope ya get sorted mate

Anyone on here ride a Vespa? I keep seeing the commuters on the way to work and was wondering how much a 50cc would cost to buy second hand and insurance?
Does anyone here commute to work on one of them? and reccomend them?

I think if you passed before Feb 2001 then you can ride up to a 50cc without doing the CBT. Otherwise you need to do it. Its only £100 for a day. Probably worth doing as I have never ridden a motorbike!

You know of any sites to get a cheap Vespa? thinking the ET2?

I have a Yamaha Cygnus 125cc (4 stroke) scoot and its a brilliant ride and looks conservative enough to deter chavs. Top end speed is only about 65 mph but the acceleration is phenomenal, and it starts on the button come rain, snow or sunshine. If I were commuting in London, it would definitely be my choice.

I edited my post about 30secs after I wrote that. Checked my licence, and I have Cat P too. I didn't realise.

I now want a Vespa too. But I want an original 60's scooter.

A possible much cheaper alternative to a Vespa might be the new Italian designed Kymco Like 125. Kymco are one of the largest producers of scoots and I've heard very good things about them.
    Spoiler:
