how to connect tv/dvd/sky box?

hi all

just got me some new equipment and am hoping someone will be able to help em connect it up properly

tv 32inch lcd

inputs av scart/av1/av2/s video/component/analog rgb/dtv ypbpr

jvc ths55 dvd player

and panasonic sky digi box

i want basically to get the best picture on the tv and also sound from the tv and sky box into the dvd player

so i need advice on what cables to buy and where to connect

also the manual states picture in picture selection under pc/dtv input status - does this mean i can get two channels on screen? if so how do i connect this up?

dont buy the cables go to maplin and buy all the connectors, wire and a crimper and then download episode 3 of systm from systm.org its about 500mb (depending on format) its 45mins long that teaches you how to make your own cables then you dont have to spend a fortune

bought a component lead yesterday to connect my tv to dvd

hooked it up and chose component av channel but it said no signal

any ideas??

not sure if the cable is shit (jvc) or tv/dvd is shit

either way the scart is working!

id make sure that the componant channel you selected was the right one cos if youve got 2 scart and 1 componant then there will be 3 av channels and you just need the right one, also make sure that its activated cos ive got a sanyo that needs it switching on in the settings for some reason (ive never had to do that with anyothers)

id still have a look at systm though probably episode 2 with the mythtv box they made
