Just wondering how the Kop followers feel about Man U potentially signing Owen..

Think it would be a good signing as Rooney & Owen are a proven goalscoring duo and its great for England leading upto WC2006..

BUT no doubt the Kop will have the knives out even though they sold him, dont want him back...Plus he aint even Scouse!

I think hes Trafford bound... Time will tell..

he has apparently said that he would ideally like to go back to liverpool but cant see a place for himself in the team. He has said that he would like to go to man utd.

I think its a great move for him and for the england team, if it happens.

In all seriousness he won't go to Newcastle as he'd be mad if he did, Arsenal don't want him, Liverpool have expressed no interest and neither have Chelsea. If he doesn't go to Man Utd he'll go to Italy. Shevchenko to Chelsea and Owen to AC Milan with some of the small change they have from the deal???

I'm a red and I'm not one of these 'Owen - Haters' . I can't see how what he did last year was any worse than what Gerrard did this year? Lets face it, after GH's final year we had been a boring, terrible side for a couple of seasons. Owen had been playing first team football for 5 or 6 years w/o us ever winning the league or CL, and was probably just fed up with the lack of creativity in the side, and having to be the one to set himself up all the time.

he didnt know how successful Rafa was going to be, and when Madrid came knocking he decided to leave rather than risk another year being unsuccessful at Liverpool. In fact, don't forget that Rafa was the one that sold him, Mikey might have wanted to stay for all we know. May be he wanted to see how the team fared first?

Gerrard on the other hand had just won the CL, and declared he would sign the contract. Then, he changes his mind and almost left. For me, thats worse than what Owen did, because after winning the CL there is no reason to leave.

Owen would be a great success back at Anfield, none of our strikers have ever scored 20+ in England and Owen would do that. I can imagine the brilliant partnership with either Crouch or Morientes. I'd be angry if Baros eft for just £7m, but if it meant replacing him with Owen, I'd be delighted.

Man U have put Smith into Midfield leaving 3 strikers and fergie has always liked Owen.. As for a loan, what bollox, if you want him, go and get him...
