Default bike intercom for sale shortly

i will be selling my tecstar starcom 1 bike to bike intercom system soon (upgrading to sonic system)

    included components:
    starcom 1 control unit,
riders headset for open face / flip helmets
    extention lead
    12v power lead
    music interface lead
    kenwood tk3101 interface lead

also included is a kenwood tk3101 radio, battery and charger.

i have used this kit for about a year as an instructor and some pupils have commented on how much better my radios are compared to the examiners ones!!!

only selling this system as i have just ordered an STX1300 pan european and it will be fitted with the top of the line sonic radios.

i'm going to put this kit on ebay in about 2 weeks if no takers here, with a buy it now of £275

i will take £225 inc p&p if bought here

the kenwood radio would cost at least £165 on its own.....

I was wondering what the range of such an intercom system would be, as I would like to get one with some mates who have bikes, so we can chat though their instead of shouting

it depends on the radio, the kenwoods are about the best and can usually give a range of 1-2 miles depending on the surroundings.

or for a little extra i can get hold of a tk-3107, which has a power output of 4w (which you have to licence ) and that will transmit about 8-10 miles

    klass, Lol...

So what would you reccomend for me and my friends, to allow us to chat to each other. Max distance between us would be 1mile MAX at any time.

    Thanks

just normal PMR radios will do the job but the sound quality will be poor and wind noise will be a problem.

everyone would have to have the same set as i'm selling to get the best sound - i once spoke to my Mrs on the phone while riding on a motorway at 80mph and she diddnt even notice i was on my bike!!

(with an optional cable you can plug your mobile phone into this system)
