My PS2 has just Died!!

Ok i have only had this PS2 for around a year, It is the Aqua Blue one that was released around last x-mas.

Anyways i went to play on WE9 and my PS2 made a very loud humming noise, sounded like the drive was spinning very fast. When i hit eject the disc was still spinning in the draw! Now none of my games work and they all do this same humming noise. Honestly i though it was going to take off!!

I am getting action on the screen but only the PS2 menu will appear.

Anyone know whats wrong with this? Do i simply need a new llaser or is it worse than that??

Im gutted cos now i cant play WE9!!

Do any discs work? Also does the drive appear to be trying to read the discs? If yes then its more likey the laser if no, then it looks like its the whole drive. You might be able to get spares from www.divineo.co.uk or nick the parts from a spare.
