Hi i just orderd one of these after reading a few online reviews

Does anyone here actully own one and what do you think of them compared to the other machines on the market notablly the TomTom GO

i don't own one but have used them on several occasions.
they're alright but not as good/easy to use as the TTGO IMO but you shouldnt have any problems if you even semi computer savvy. have you ordered the standard or premium? premium comes with full euro maps.

standard i think it was thats somthing ill have to check up on.

I belive you can update the maps one way or another so even if it isnt with the euro maps i can always grab an update

theres a Navman post on one of the NGs but it just says navman maps europe, doesnt mention what system or version they are for.

they sent me the icn 520 through which is the updated version at no extra cost :thumbs only problem is it doesnt recongnise gillingham in dorset only gillingham in kent

@BLUTO141 : Im in Kent mate was interested in it for finding my way around Dorset since im thinking of moving there

@T1z3R : Ive downloaded the latest service pack with no changes :nowords: think its a fault with the software so ive sent em an email about it

does it recognise adress's in gillingham dorset?

its likely not faulty just may not have certain towns/regions listed but it should contain most adress's in those areas.

nope wont recognise anything from gillingham in dorset it thinks their in kent. Ive also tried a few areas around it to see if gillingham is on the map and it doesnt even aknowledge its there

I have a feeling it may be the mapping software thats at fault so if anyones got a TomTom could they see if it recognise gillingham in dorset as i think the company that do the mapping software for this do em for every GPS system.

TT5 lists gillingham in kent and gillingham in beccles. that right?

can you find gillingham on the map view?

just got an email back from em they say that it is indeed a fault with their software and hope to fix it soon

yea i spoke to em nearly all day today still not a straight answer wot it is but they think its the software as it affects all 520's apprantly
