Default Need help choosing a new camera...

For a while I have had a Fuji 6800 zoom camera but am now after something a bit more versatile, the one I currently have is a bit too big, heavy and it takes time between pictures before it can shoot again, the only way I can speed this up is to lower the resolution.

It needs to be slim, needs to have optical zoom and needs to be at least 3 Mp but 5-6 mp would be preferrable.

Certain things I would really like in it are:

    It's own rechargable battery
The ability to take picture after picture (i.e. fast in writing to the card)
    It's own cradle

BUt at the end of the day, size does matter (excuse the pun) the smaller the better!

I know sod all about the newer models, am looking to spend about £200.

    Much appreciated!

How about a Canon S60, a very nice little camera.

    Features

    5.0 Megapixels
3.6x wide angle optical zoom lens
Canon UA glass-moulded aspherical lens ensures slim body
    13 shooting modes
    DIGIC and iSAPS
    9-point AiAF
    Print/Share button
    PictBridge/Canon Direct Print compatible
    Wide range of accessories
    CIG access

250 Squid on Amazon, and if you want to see one, I`ll borrow the olds S60 in the week.

main diff are t7 smaller and the lag in taking the pic is a miniscule quicker.

So I would point to the C-40, lovely small 4 MP camera, needs only two AA batteries (I've got rechargable ones, which last quite a while), big plus on this one is, should you have problems, you can buy normal AA ones in a local shop if on holiday (hasn't happend to me yet *knock wood).
I virtually take it everywhere, as it is so compact and it hasn't let me down. Connection is via USB (good point here as well, it is being recognised as an external drive, so sometimes I use it for file storage and haven't had driver problems on diffrent PC's).
Downside may be the SM cards and it can take a while to write to the card whilst using the flash, these are my two cents worth...

Take a look here: Picture Samples

I don't know about the newer models, the C-55 (C-50) or the C-70, may be worth a look.
