recommend me a domain host

i have my main email address with bt and they are now saying that you need to dial up every 90 days or the email address will be deemed inactive and therefore deleted. bstads.

i need to get a domain registered so that i can get emails sent to name@myname.com directed to my f2s email account, etc.

i am not really using web pages at the moment to be honest but i guess that this can be an option.

any recommendations?

i use ukreg to get my domain names - cheap and reliable

if you want to have your own email proper (not redirecting to another account), let me know how much bandwidth you think you'll use and i might be able to help you out

i am not sure to be honest... i am a tad new to this all. i didnt realise that you could just register the domain and have emails redirected or have the emails hoested properly.

If the simple registration process gets you a domain name and email address but not the pop3 / smtp facility then how is the email forwarding arranged?

What are my options and costs ?

sorry for the late reply - completely forgot about this

if you get the domain name from someone like ukreg, they offer a free email forwarding service. you can set up name@myname.com and it will get forwarded to whatever email account you specify (like you@yahoo.com). the downside of this is if you send or reply to an email, it will be sent from the yahoo account

if you want to be able to reply from name@myname.com then you wlil have to get the domain name hosted. if you want to go for this, i can offer you hosting. depending on how much you'll be sending, i can probably do this for a quid or two a month
