    Default UMD Emulator V0.8

    Humma's treated us again:

    Code:
    Hi everyone ...

Humma Kavula & Friends present :

PSP UMD Emulator V0.8 for PSP V1.50 only
    ----------------------------------------

Following in the footsteps of the Fastloader, here is another fine homebrew app for your pleasure. This time we present you a full featured UMD emulator, reboot & exitgame tight - you have to turn off your PSP completely (or crash it ) to get it back to original state. This is a semi-final version, some things are known not to work properly for now (see below).

    - play your favourite LEGIT backuped ISOs from the main menu of your PSP !
    - full UMD emulation via selected ISO, either for game, video and audio !
    - possibility to bypass updater check within the menu
    - possibility to remove/redirect updater icon
    - possibility to set any regioncode, even for games ...
    - CPU speed setup (currently for ISOs only)
    - sleepmode works within games now ! See "ToDo" for more
    - possibility to redirect flash0: (user config) and flash1: (kernel data)
to memorystick (and no, this is NOT a rip of the lately released MPH application)
    - USB is automatically activated within the emulator config
    - configuration will be automatically saved and reloaded on app restart
    - reload the ISO list by pressing SELECT button
    - restart emulator config by pressing START button
    - maybe some more which i just forgot to mention ...

***** This application DOES NOT write to the flash, everything is done in RAM only ! *****

Now you can use all the nifty functions like versionchanger, pmf replacer or button changer
but you dont need to write to the flash anymore ! Just replace the necessary files on your
memstick while using flash emulation. Hope some ppl will find this useful ...

    Humma Kavula !

! please read the included "readme first !" too ... !

** Edit : documentation went somewhat wrong, flash0: is kernel data and flash1: user config ofcourse ... **

I trust this still requires a UMD in the drive?

Brilliant !!! Once again Humma Kavula & Friends deliver the goods. These last few weeks have been awesome for us 1.5 PSP owners what with Virtua Tennis, Burnout Legends, Winning 11 and now a new and improved loader !!

They might have got the ball rolling but they have definitely dropped it over what has happened in the last few weeks. Props to WAB since I wouldn't even know where to begin with programming, etc but the events that have taken place have seriously damaged them as a group.

Back on topic. Ok I have tried it and without sounding like a hater I have to admit I prefer Fastloader v0.7. I know this is still a work in progress/beta version with bugs but at the minute I think fastloader is easier to use. It's still a great util and I'm sure some people will prefer it but personally for me at the minute I will be sticking with fastloader v0.7 and devboot. What does everyone else think ?

I think with how small they are we might as well have them all on the memory stick and use whichever is necessary to boot the games.

as for WAB even if they don't release anything they've still brought us some great apps.

when it goes back to the screen select the UMD. it should then boot the game you previously selected.

it's a bit of a funny way to do it for the user but it means all games like death dino jr now work.

I wouldn't write WAB off just yet and I think it's a bit much to say it has seriously damaged them.

Can peeps keep reporting back with any probs/success with this new emu - sounds awesome :thumbs

Extra info, Is it because the UMD I have in the PSP is the sample disc wich effectively is a movie?

    - Games ALWAYS have setting "game: regionfree" for now
    - ISO of videos, no matter of region, which you wanna play from the PSP menu : video: regionfree
    - Audio like video, but couldnt test that
    - Playing game ISO with game UMD works best
    - Playing game ISO with movie UMD of SAME regioncode than the PSP : Set disctype umd to "video" , all regioncodes to regionfree
    - Playing game ISO with movie UMD of DIFFERENT regioncode : Guess that wont work at all for now ...

just got hold of my psp 1.5 and running fastloader 0.7 on it, Virtua Tennis is the mutts nuts will go to v0.8 when i hear a few reviews of how it handles as the only gripe ive got with v0.7 at the moment is it restarts the psp most of the time when u wanna change games!
