    Default Aptitude Tests

    Hi Folks,

a friend of mine has an interview later this week, and has to do a SHL aptitiude test. I rememeber doing some for some graduate assements. She has looked on the website and has found an example, and i have had a look at it too, and it was piss easy. Has anyone got any links to free aptitude test examples that are more realistic? I have tried google, but you have to pay for most of them, or they are nothing like the SHL ones.

    Thanks,

Hey there Q. I did some shl aptitude tests last week, I'll try to describe them for you to tell your friend. These were for a role in the production area of a factory.

There was one on following instructions. This had a passage of text followed by up to questions regarding the text. Certain statements are similar & are there to make sure you're capable of making quick decisions based on instructions.

There was one concerning numeracy, can't really elaborate on this much - just calculations whilst under pressure (time).

There was an unusual one. There was a sequence of coloured circles representing lamps. In a fold-out section of the question book there was a key to how switches would need to be turned for each lamp to be that colour. Then there was a multi-choice set of answers to choose from. There were 30 questions on this sheet to be answered in 7 minutes. I was sat next to someone who couldn't help himself thinking aloud to this test & it was very distracting.

The tests were easy for me but I know others found it tough. Bearing in mind some might not have done anything like this in up to 40 years of work you can see why.
No sympathy for the devil; keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride...
