I wonder how the cover comes off without damaging the analog stick.

Same people but a UK link - I'm going for the silver one.

    http://www.e-linksoft.com/asterixgbp.htm

Took the front off my PSP about 10 minutes ago and found I don't have a dead pixel at all but a mark on the inside of the screen itself.

Hopefully with this replacement I'll have a perfect screen at last.

I'll post pictures once I get it fitted.

it's nice, silver can look pretty slick in the right way, but i'd be worried about the finger prints on it.

now if it was brushed silver/carbon possbily they maybe we're on a winner. however, clear plastic/possible frosted plastic is gonna win it for me.

I would love to but unelss it's free I wont be for a while.

I really need to sort out a xecuter GC case before one of these is on the agenda. I wish people didn't feel the need to charge £30 a pop for these cases, i'd buy two if they were £15 each :whistle :|

Ok I've got the facia off aboveconnection, next day delivery - can't fault them on their service, although I am not too sure about their product...first thing's first no instructions, not good for a newbie or anyone who's not happy about taking their PSP apart & doesn't know what do to/feels scared.

    Installation
Get a nice piece of soft fabric (I used the PSP cleaner cloth) to rest the PSP on and to not scratch or get any screens/conponents dirty.

Double checking with this guide I removed the warranty sticker (careful now, easily peals off without 'VOID' ing the thing out if done slowly) and then proceed to remove the 5 screws which the PSP has to hold on the front facia and buttons.

Once the screws are off we can remove the original facia and begin to get the new one on

You need to pop off the analogue stick and unscrew it's two screws on the inside of the facia. You also need to remove the dpad and X,O,Δ & button's rubber connectors and put them into the new facia.

    Closing Up
Now it's a simple job of placing the PSP upside down on top of the new facia and screwing it together with the original 5 screws. They screw holes lined up easily enough but it did require a little pressure here and there just to get things lined up perfectly.

    Final Image

Looks good enough from initial inspection, but if you go into detail you can see where this really has faults.

As you can see it doesn't line up properly along the bottom. The left side was fine but the bottom right corner wouldn't line up at all. I took the facia off and reapplied it with the same results. Maybe it was just me, or maybe the product or a one off...hard to say but tightning the screw further did no good so its either time to shave off some pastic or leave it be. I left it.

The X button decided to catch the ribbon cable undneath it, something which I could stop from happening unless I taped it back in place. Note even if you look at the picture off the AC site it's still caught underneath.

Check the Vol+ button if you can see it. It was wonkey and had no way of making it straight. On the demo picture you can clearly see other buttons as wonkey.
    Overall
Not really very impressed with this replacement facia in all honesty. You dont have the choice for using original buttons. I only use the replacement ones on the PSP XMB and I didn't rate them at all. the dpad was OK and about as useable as an original jap one but the 4 main buttons felt quite lose and a bit 'cheap'. The fact that I couldn't put in my original buttons made me like it a lot less as there was no way of hiding from the ones sent with it. There's no available rubber analgue stick so you'll have to go with the clear one that comes with it, or go for a rubber black one (if you like more grip).
    Pros & Cons
    Pros

    • Quick to arrive, well packaged for safe postage
    • Easy to install (once instructions were found/worked out)
    • Available now, in the UK, for a much cheaper price than the ones in the origin of this thread
    Cons

    • Not totally flush with the PSP when installed
    • Buttons not aligned or replaceable
    • PSP looks funny with a front clear facia and a black rear one
In conclustion I put my black one back on and put this back in the box. I dont think i'll be using it on my PSP.

Thanks for the deal AC but I dont rate it very highly. I suggest waiting for these to come out or to not bother.

As a side note: I think a full replacement housing it worth waiting for, not these facias. My PSP just looked funny being half clear and half black.
