[PSP] GTA:LCS is Multiplayer!

1UP.com recently had the exclusive opportunity to play the multiplayer feature in Liberty City Stories, the first in the GTA Series to have a multiplayer mode made by Rockstar. The multiplayer mode will include 7 game modes, with up to 6 players in one game. To unlock more skins and the other islands in multiplayer mode you first need to finish certain parts in the single player part of the game. There will be up to 60 different skins to choose from!

1UP played 2 of the 7 different modes: Liberty City Survivor and Get Stretched. Liberty City Survivor is similar to "deathmatch" in multiplayer where it is every man for himself and the option to play on a team. You will be able to pick up power-ups, shoot at each other of course and hijack all the different cars in Liberty City.

One great feature is that along with your fellow players, the city will be roamed by pedestrians and the heavy traffic of Liberty City, making it even more of a fun experience.

The second mode 1UP got to play "Get Stretched" is something similar to "capture-the-flag". However, the flags are replaced with limousines! Each team has to try and steal a limo from the opposing team's base, and then drive it back to their own base. If the other team got your limo first, you will not be able to deliver theirs to your base. If you get the limo damaged it will reset back at the original team's base.

This game will truely be great fun!

I had a sneeking suspicion that GTA might be multiplayer for the PSP, becuase how could it not be? Plus they gavce some pretty big hints when talking about san andreas.
