Default [PSP] No reason to downgrade - 2.0 eboot launching in progress

    2.0 Eboot Loader beta version

AstralDragon from PSPri.it forum has posted a 2.0 eboot loader exploit, which enables you to run small eboots by exploiting the Photo function. Here is a translation of the method:

    Loader of PBP for 2.0

And here that the hacking on the 2.0 it completes a greatest step!

E' be in fact created a loader of rows PBP for Firmware 2.0. Being still a version beta it succeeds to start the first true application that looked at on 1.50, that is the Hello World di Nem, but the progresses have been huge, inasmuch as this is the start on FW 2.0 of a true ELF. Here the DOWNLOAD of the loader (that it includes also the source), while this is the DOWNLOAD of the Hello World that is possible to make to leave.

    The procedure is:
    To insert psp01.tif in X:\PSP\PHOTO
To insert EBOOT.PBP of Hello World in folder X:\PSP\GAME\BOOT\

To this point to go in menu the Photo of the PSP and to visualize the image that it will make to start the EBOOT

Thanks also to rrgraphic for the news

I’ve tested this exploit on my PSP (yeah, upgraded to 2.0 again, exploit, downgrade back… then forgot to take pictures, had to do it again. Now you can see how safe MPH’s original downgrader is ). You can only run a tiny eboot with this method. Like the Helloworld, or PSPong. Good old days… Our admin Dan suggested that this method is still running in the user space, so the 64KB restriction is still there until further discovery. Well, it’s a great step forward anyway. Have a good time up/downgrading and exploiting!

You can get the exploit file (psp01.tif) and the source code from our PSP Download section [here].

You can get the Hello World by Nem from our PSP Download section [here].

It seems the name of the author of this exploit is E’.
Thanks to the author E’, AstralDragon who posted this and rrgraphic who provided him with this news. If the name of the author was wrong, please contact us to get you correctly credited.

Also thanks to Team Toc2rta for the original working exploit, the MPH downgrader which enables us to try this out bravely!

update: this runs many small eboots.

Soon there will either be a proer expliot to run any eboot or a loader/file browser which will then load any eboot.

I am gonna stick with 2.0 at this rate

Thing is the eboots are launched in a 64k memory space, not the main memory which means that will have to be cracked too.

Well if it does get hacked for real then it be 2.0 not 1.5 which will become the main hacking firmwire now. As surely they wouldnt stay with 1.5 if they hack 2.0...then agian people prefer to stick with 1.0 then 1.5 ¬¬

if 2.0 becomes the norm for hacking and some things dont run under those conditions not hard to stick the downgrader on and go back to 1.5 :thumbs
