    Default brew on lap top

hello i seem to be spending a lot of time in this section lately.
i spilled a brew on my lap top two days ago. once it dried out it did seem to work ok.

however my built in mouse pad isnt working. it does have a button and a light above it to disable it but the light is out and the button wont activate the mouse.

is it goosed or is there a way to fix it.

if it is knackered if i buy an external mouse should it work like that?

    thanks

If your comfortable at the thought of taking your laptop case off then there is a chance you can fix it. Once you removed the casing and can access the mouse you can try very carefully to clean under the buttons. When I worked at a University one of my crappy jobs was doing this on staff laptops, if the students spilt coke on the PC keyboards we just washed the buggers under a running tap, let them dry for a day and plug em back in!

If you not happy at the thought of taking your case off then you could take it to you local 'puter shop who should be able to have a go for yer.

The external mouse will be fine. Its most prob the suger in the beer which is stopping the button from switching the mouse back on or worse case is that it is really shagged.

I couldn't say how much the comp shop would be as I do all my own stuff!

You could ask nicely in the forums if anyone knows their way round a laptop and lives near you - you might have to buy them a couple of beers (away from the laptop)
