Just Curius.. By the term of a modded XBOX does it have to have a MOD chip.... ?? and is there truly an easy way to put Linu}{ on a xbox?

Also, Does the EvolutionX yada yada need a mod chip to be put on your xbox?

No - U can reflash the onboard bios (softmod)
Yes - U can download autoinstaller discs that install it all for U like X-disk and slayer's
and
The box needs to be modded either with a chip or softmod to run non MS software

A soft mod dosn't flash the on board bios, it patches it or sends a new one in place of the original one during booting. . To flash the on board bios that is a tsop flash and requires some on board point "bridging" and can render a board usless if done incorrectly even a lpc chip can't repair it. only a 23 point chip.
That said both are effective ways of making homebrew or unsigned code work on your box. as Hippie says have a search around.
