Every fuckin night, air bombs, whistling rockets, bangers, VERY LOUD Rockets!!!

Ive had enuf too i mean 4 ferks sake why is it that we should have to put up with whistles and bangs for weeks before and after Nov 5th - I concur should be over 25's or even better some form of trained peeps only can purchase for official displays !!!

used to live in shelton, stoke...absolutly fucking nightmare around this time of the year. Used to last as soon as Spar got stock in to when Spar ran out of stock, usually it was roughly 1 month or so. The little shits would just use them as rocket launchers, it'd be ok if they were going up the air but I never saw anything in the sky, these were weapons of lame destruction. A large majority of the houses in the area backed onto each other with a small allyway inbetween. shelton itself isn't very big but it seemd to get packed out with little fuckers firing these things everywhere, you'd hear them going off constantly.

It was always a bad time to go walking around once it got past 6, you never know when ur gonna get a firework chucked at ya.

Airbombs are banned now (managed to find a packet last year though so kept a few back, they aren't half loud!, week after i bought them the shop was raided by police lol)

They've even banned the little small bottle rockets that used to sell for about £2-3 for 10. Bangers have been banned for years aswell They've also imposed noise restrictions on them aswell so the manufacturers cant make them over a certain amount of decibels anymore.

I havn't heard many fireworks going off this year, im living in the city centre now though so i guess there's less places for people to use them here. I dont mind them though, i love fireworks myself so whenever i hear them im at the window trying to see where they are lol

I am quite surprised they havn't been banned from public sale though, it's just odd they go on and on about stopping terrorism, but for a few weeks a year you can buy in as much explosives as you please from any corner shop. I hope they dont get banned because im sick of this country banning things i enjoy. The vast majority of people use them sensibly, i dont see why the minority of idiots should ruin it for the rest of us. Nobody suggests banning cars when people and animals get killed by them every single day.

when did they ban air bomb's?? theres a load for sale in the local shop at the top of the road from me i had a look earlier when i got a paper 5 air bobm repeaters for a fiver in there

I think the repeater things are classed as roman candles and will have another effect inside them aswell (stars or something) single shot airbombs with no effect other than an almighty boom were banned awhile ago im sure.

Just done a search and found this from the DTI in May 2004

"Air bombs will be banned from next month and new strict controls on mini rockets introduced in the latest Government move to crackdown on firework yobs, Consumer Minister Gerry Sutcliffe will announce today.

The new laws, that will be laid in parliament today, aim to cut the stress, noise and nuisance fireworks can cause, and reduce injuries.

They will make it harder for under-18s to get hold of fireworks and ban air bombs, which cause the most nuisance on streets and housing estates.

They:

* prohibit the supply of air bombs;
* tighten the definition of mini rockets;
* strengthen retailers' obligation to check if a customer is over 18. From now on if a retailer has any doubt about the customer's age, retailers should ask for proof, as is the case with cigarettes and alcohol. "

Problem is, it's a small minority of twats that find it funny to tie fireworks to animals/throw them at people/shoot them at cars/light them under cars etc etc etc, and these cunts are gonna spoil it for those of us who enjoy them and use them in the intended way.

i love fireworks but think they should be displays only! my dog's petrified of them its horrible to watch as she tries to climb into cupboards or hide in things and if not she gets so scared she shakes and her teeth chatter.
its so sad to watch and im sure some day she'll have a heart attack.

if they cant ban them for display only then at least only for sale on the 5th and thats it!
besides id rather pay £2 and watch the really good displays than a tenner for a few little things anyway!
