    Default Strange PS2 problem!

    Hey,
My PS2 just doesn't seem to like some of my backed up DVD films!! It will play Backed up DVD games, CD games and Audio CD's and of course originals as well! It also plays original DVD films perfectly, its only certain backed up DVD films that I have!!

I am burning them the same way I used to, now I am using my laptop DVD+/-RW instead of my Pioneer-104, even when I use the Pioneer-104 I still have the same problems, so it's not the DVD-RW drive! The DVD's work fine in other DVD players!

I was using Traxdata DVD-R's with the Ritek generation 4 dye, now I'm using RiDisc DVD-R's with the Ritek generation 5 dye!! Some of my back ups that work fine are on the Traxdata discs, so I know it's not the media!

Can someone please help, because this is really getting annoying :grr:!! I thought it might be the laser, but if it was, why does it ONLY do it with my recent DVD FILM backups, all my games (backed up and original), audio cd's (backed up and original) and original DVD films work perfectly fine!!

    Thanks

I'm sure it's not the media m8, because most of my films are on the traxdata's with the G04 dye, and now wen i burn a film onto those same discs I get the same problem!! My other (older) backups of films work fine with that media!! The new media i'm using has the G05 dye (surely this is a better dye and should make it easier for the PS2 to read it!), and I still get the same problem!!

    Cheers

Try giving your laser a good clean, remove the cover off the laser unit drop ONE drop of head cleaning fluid on the lens then GENTLY clean using a cotton bud repeat about 3 times if u still have problems come back.
