dont know whats going on here tonight this it the 3rd time i have typed this.
the ftp wont work saying connection failed.
back to my original post tonight
how come i can flash my box the kids box but not the pegs nan's box, they are all nokia, all 2x intel and all originally flashed with the same boxcracker image up until yesterday.
im not bothered about rescanning or making new bouquets as long as this new image flashes on to the box
im useing the same method as always for flashing( a cat cable with x over plug)

if you cant connect with ftp or IFA then the network port if fux0red.. you will need to use a serial lead with boodmanager.. Good luck,

    im a bellend dhooooooooooooo
one of the pins was bent inside the cat socket on the box, simple fix once spotted.
for all others out there if you use the x over cable method
you select a networkcard turn off the box, and connect to dbox you should have no connection on network icon(yes easy when you know). once you have set the flash assistant and clic on start the no connection or cross will disapear when you power up the box, thats how i found my little problem out it was not connecting.
so add that to your list of things to remember. oh and dont say im not that dull it wont happen to me,coz it could very well,i have flashed a few boxes in my family and it had me stumped for 48 hour.

and gimp once again cheers for your help and assistance

I downloaded the new image and for the first time used the FTP methos, a very straight-forward way to flash. I tried the scan option, just to see what it would find as I had already saved my services and bouquets. It ran for over an hour before I gave up and reset the box, in that time it found no transponders but seemed happy to try forever. I FTP-ed the services and bouquets over and its running fine. Thanks for the help in this thread.
