This is a great article - nothing that isnt common sense -
RF ariel lead = crap
Composite = less crap
S Video = slighly less Crap again to good
Component = Lovely - only way to get the best
VGA - same as above more or less.
Scart is not mentioned as there in the US but it should come in below Component (of course) around the S-video crap - OK level.
Anyone know if my xbox HD kit is compatible with the 360?. I just noticed you don't get component with the core system and only composite.
I dont think so - the connection on the back of 360 looks to be a different shape from the Video socket on the xbox 1st.

This is just what I wanted to hear. I get an excellent picture (as far as I am concearned, as I dont have HDTV) with my existing TV, on both xbox and dvd playback, via scart connections.Originally Posted by fe_man2000

Wow, wot a difference. :coffee:
Some similarly related info here comparing High Def modes:
480p
720p
1080p
:blink:
people are messing up the terminoligy here, SCART is just a versatile connector with a collection of signals and can include all or none of composite, RGB, svideo along with audio and some switching.
also in mateus' post, the 3rd picture is 1080i, a big difference from 1080p he stated, it is interlaced and not progressive (standard tv res is 480i)

thats either going to be kak cables or the decoder in your TV not handling the chrominance signal too well. The red part is at one particular point/level in the colourburst, i forget where but bleed happens when its being decoded slightly at the wrong time OR with the wrong level reference. S video can be transmission quality if the equipment is good enough.Originally Posted by {{909}}

I've just cancelled my order with Argos for the core system, I ain't fucking about buying another set of component cables, I wasn't sure if I was doing the right thing buying it so soon anyway so that made my mind up.
glad someone knows what they are talking about.Originally Posted by maltloaf
