bit of a beast , i'd be tempted if I could afford it
yea looks like a good machine... I think. I've been thinking about building my own but this might be the better, cheaper option.
What is the difference between the D core processor and the P4HT processor? (Answer = P4 has HT technology the D does not.)

oooh..I want one..
nice post
What do people think about this deal, i should treat myself to a new computer.... so, is it any good?
my sister bought one of the Aldi Medion mechines the last time they had them for sale and it is a cracking machine. I don't see this one being any different and for the price it looks great.
The only gripe I have with my sisters PC is it a bit noisy when starting up but that can easily be fixed (i'm sure 4me2 had a link as to where to buy the kit from).
I bought the previous machine Aldi on sale, and its a brilliant machine. Definitely worth it I think and so will this one be if you buy it. Mine's really quiet too, even when starting up, i'm not sure whats up with your sisters machine 2die4
its got a frekin scart socket at the back aint seen that before looks good
God knows then ! *L* it's only noisey once you press the power button and it starts up but after it gets going it is ok. My simple solution for her is basically just don't turn it off !Originally Posted by dannyboy
I'm not knocking it because pound for pound there is no way she could have got a better spec machine and she is more than happy with it.
Anybody out there don't be put off because you haven't heard of the brand. Over here in Sweden a few of the electrical chain shops sell Medion PC's and DVD players etc and my mate who works at one of these electrical shops tell me they normally sell out straightaway of the PC's because they are such good value for money.
I bought one of the laptops Aldi had for sale last year and I've had no problems for it. It's a well speced lappy for the cash and does the job perfectly for me.
If I was in market for another desktop i would definitely buy this one.
ahhh i am going to take the plunge i think, My only concern is the graphics card. But everything else seems great. Hope i get one on Tuesday.
Wow, wot a machine, loaded to Mars and back!... 3 TV tuners, scart!, digi out, funky display, remote... if you don't like the GPU - just upgrade later.
Actually, wtf is a Geforce 6700XL? - Can't find it on the net.

i've been looking too, might be a misprint? But i think i am probably going to get one.
it'll either be a 6800 or a 6600 me thinks...
one more thing could you build a similair spec pc for the same price?
the grafix card is a medion special m8 made for thier pcs .
Well I have been trying to price bits and I don't think you can, the processor alone cost 240 quid.
Ive had a go at pricing this up pretty much spec for spec and im a couple of quid over only difference being i went for a A*D processor
I wouldnt exactly call it very high spec ;X

I've now been put off this machine, it's not such an amazing deal as Comet are doing similar deals for a little bit more money (bigger hard drives) So I guess I will have to make my own machine after all.
where can you get the tv card/s that the pc has? ive never seen one like it. also how do they manage to have a scart output.
Had my Medion pc for getting on for 3 years now, hasnt let me down yet. Havent had to spend a fortune keeping it up to date either, just some more memory and a new gfx card.
