    Default Passport

Having spent 2 days frantically searching for my passport to go to Geneva in under 3 weeks, I rang the Passport Agency today to see about a replacement.

£70 and a trip to Liverpool to get a new one, plus getting forms and photos re-validated.

That's a heck of an incentive.

I'm really glad it's just turned up. I mean, £70!!!!
Me and my fella spit our dummies out so we won't be coming back. ever. boo hoo.

This is a techy / hackers forum not a fu**ing mothers meeting so - peace out.

Really are a fucking rip off. They've also just stuck the standard price up from £42 to £51!!

I had mine stolen when our flat was burgled earlier this year, and i cant afford to replace it. They dont even have a scheme where if its stolen and you have a crime number, you can buy a cheaper replacement or anything. Fucking rip off.

This whole bloody country is a rip off!!!!!

There was summat about the cost of a passport on the news this morning. Apparently the biggest portion of the cost goes towards keeping British Consulates abroad open, so that they can help people when they fook up in foreign climes. You know the sort of stuff.. Lost/stolen passports, helping after accidents etc.

Yeah, but it's good value considering your photo is a panoramic, to take in that wide smile

i think i saw something about then having some electricly scannable tag in them or something, raising the price further. in theory a good idea if it makes airports more efficient and more terrorist and fraud-proof but you always get fakes, no matter how high tech you go with it.

I got mine renewed the same day. Had to ring up the passport agency and make an appointment dropped off my forms etc and was told to come back after 3pm. Went back and it was done, Think it was the priority service thing, cost me 90 quid for the privilage as well !
