    Default avi>dvd or cdrw probs?

I hope this question is allowed...

I download tv episodes and they are always avi files, they play fine on the pc but when i try and put them on cdrw or dvdrw using either nero vision 4 or tmpgenc 3 express then the playback becomes terrible (jerky, out of sync, pauses ect) is there a better option or i'm i doing something wrong??
I have converted to videocd, svcd and dvd format but none are any good.

A bloke at work was mentioned this problem and I think it was all to do with Aspect Ratio ie 16:9 4:3, that the programme was recorded in. try changing the aspect setting in nero ... (if there is one)

Hope this points you in right direction.

is it all random like? changing the frame rate can make it seem jerky bu this tends to be a constant jerkyness if you get me? If it's having trouble reading the dvdrs/cdrs then it will buffer varying amounts each time making the jerkyness a little more random... does it get worse towards the end of the films? have you tried in multiple dvd drives? eg comp and set tup... what about a direct like-for-like copy of a dvd5 film?
