    Rant Gerrard

No complaints about the result today, we got just what we deserved - nowt.
No real complaints about the sending off.
    But:
Crouch pushed Bowyer over straight after the tackle - intent, therefore a straight red.
Carragher had a dabble, possibly a yellow.
Saint Gerrard comes in both arms flayling - again intent - gets fuck all.

Now I've watched him for years and good as his passing, gameplay etc is, he has made the two-footed tackle his trademark, and has bit of a nasty side that never gets punished.

Call it sour grapes all you like; but like I said, I've got no complaints about the result, nor our sending off, and I think any sending offs for Liverpool would have had any bearing on the result, just that Bowyer's reputation precedes him (possibly correctly), while Saint Gerrard gets awaty with it week in, week out.

Like I said, call it sour grapes all you want - I don't give a fuck.
    Cheers - Coin-Op

    what tosh.

Gerrard very rarely gets involved in anything, perhaps 3/4 seasons ago, i would agree - these days he is the model professional that walks away from "charlies" like bowyer et al. Lampard, Gerrard, Joe Cole, Carrick - all classy midfielders who walk away from trouble - unlike the essien/keane/savage/wise/barton mould that actively look for the trouble to get into

Looked like he was walking away with all guns blazing today - you carry on looking at him through your red tinted glasses. I ddn't say he went looking for trouble, he has made the 2-footed tackle a bit of a signature, and he gets away with it. Before anyone pipes in about Shearer's flailing elbows, that's a different story.

i dont think bowyer should of gone it wasnt that bad his reputation just dont help him.

crouch and gerrard should of both walked. couch for the push and gerrard for grabbing bowyer by the throat.

Glad someone was watching the same incident.
I don't think Bowyer should have gone, but no complaints, it was borderline and like I said his reputation preceded him.
The annoying thing is (And this is more a general comment than a comment on this incident), if the ref says he saw the push/Gerrard's antics, the FA can't punish them. If he missed it they can make a retrospective booking etc. Now call me old fashioned, but idf he sees any sort of foul and lets it go, he's not doing his job.

think i remember gerrard also having a go at shearer. i think the l\pool players where expecting somthing? which lead them to jump in feet first on the first bad tackle?

you dont get sent off for pushing.....fuck me lads, what kind of game do u want us to be left with...

some of you need reality checks if u cant hav a little argy bargy without some fairy cunt whining for you to be sent off for a little shove. Football is a contact sport, with passion involved in most teams........u take the passion away and we will be left with a buisness like fucking WWF or some shite....Pushing, emotions bubbling up, raw passion - that is what we need, and could do with more of.

Tackeling at waste height, fighting with team mates, kicking, punching, that is what we could do without - not a fucking bit of shoving you fairies.

    ridiculous.

    BOLLOX!!

wonder if you would of said the same if it was shearer\bowyer pushing\grabbing gerrard?? players have been sent off for less.

im an evertonian but im just looking at the bigger picture here not the red\blue tinted one.

Well I was at the game and at a glance it looked pretty nasty but after watching the replays on MOTD it really didn't look like a red card offence, in fact, I have to admit that Gerrard and Crouchy were very lucky and could have gone the same way as Bowyer with another ref on the field. What really should have happened was yellow for Bowyer and a stern warning for Gerrard and Crouch as it was all a bit handbags at dawn.

BTW I loved the chants from the Kop ' Titus for England!' LMFAO

I agree with the above, Bowyer hardly mde contact, wasnt exactly an essien type lunge was it...

Bowyer got a red cos of who is his.. Crouch deserved a yellow and Gerrard a definite Red as ist he 1st pushed shearer then grabbed Bowyers throat..

I'm a fan of Stevie G but that wasnt right...

    Rant Re: Gerrard

some of the comments on here are laughable

anyone who says bowyer should have been sent of is talking out there arse, any other player and they wouldnt have been sent off,its his reputation that gets him into trouble.

amdy faye and n'zogbia in the centre of the pitch is nothing but a joke

going off the track a bit but the standard of referees these days is absolute garbage, Match of the day proved that last night some of those decisions were awfull including solanos save on the line lol

He has done about 4 or 5 serious career threatening challenges in the past 3 years...his reputation saves his ass every time from getting a red card
