PC freezes if I don't move mouse!

Occasionally, my PC will freeze until I either move the mouse, or press a key. It just stops doing anything at all, whether it's downloading, burning, playing a game, etc, and it's REALLY annoying, as I can't even leave it alone to download something, it may freeze 30 seconds after I leave it, or not at all!!! Any ideas?

are you on a wireless network by any chance?? Mine sometimes freezes if it loses connection to router

No, it's all wired in, Netgear DG814 as a modem, Linksys WRT54G as a router (for Kai).

Sapphire Radeon Xpress 200P mobo
Athlon 64 3000+ Venice
Radeon X700Pro
1 gig PC3200 Dual channel
Antec 450W PSU
Windows XP Pro SP2
Etc, etc

Just seems strange that the whole thing just stops!

Right click on Desktop > Screensaver > Power > Set to Always On

Set to Always On, has always been as the PC crashes if the AMD Quiet'n'Cool kicks in!

I've always used Spy Sweeper (http://www.webroot.com/land/freescan.php), does the job for me

I use Spybot Search & destroy

And Ad-Aware
http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
Along with the microsoft one this usually gets rid of all the crap.

Tried running them all, just a couple of cookies found, nothing nasty at all?! Ran Kaspersky AV too, nothing found either. Stumped, anyone else?
