Default whats the best way to restore faded red paint??

    hi

had a bump in my redish fiat punto, the bloke reckons that basically one side of the car will be resprayed so its going to look a bit stupid.

does anyone know of anything i can do, or pay someone to do that'll restore the rest of the paintwork.

please don't say respray th rest of the car as i can't afford it and it'd be more than the cars worth

    never use t-cut.

seriously, it'll fook up your car big style.

seen so many cars needing a respray cause it's been t-cut'ed.

sounds interesting, care to elaborate a little more?

T-cut is the worse thing you can use, it's abrasive as hell and makes a right bollox.

You need to use some Farecla G3 instead.

    agree

basically it ruins your paintwork and never matches your particular shade of colour... red in this case.

I have a 1990 red Golf Gti 8V that always went pinkish in the summer.
I used Tcut on it every year then polish using Auto Glym (not shure of spelling)
I ended up respraying the car after 5 years of T cutting had £500 spare so got it painted.
There are probibley other stuff that garage's use to restore colour.
If you are selling the car its the cheapest way. To do the job right t-cut, polish, do the black work, then do the tyres, glass and interior will take most of the day.
When using T-cut just do small areas at a time, polish off, then onto the next bit. Auto Glym polish I do a pannel at a time.
The car looks a minter when done.

g3 and a polisher would be my choice to mop the paintwork. Should get it looking alright. Then a good wax and job done.

Red is a nightmare to keep looking good though.

to be honest mate your local valet center should take no more that £25-£30 to buff and polish the car i would not try and g3 the car myself as you can end up burning the paint off if you dont use enough water failing that your local body shop should not be to dear either my old rs turbo was red and went kinda pinky so i got it buffed at my local body shop for £40 and it looked as though it was just out the showroom.
    hope this helps

    Have to agree with 2e1cys.
A good machine polish with g3 then a wax would bring colour back to life.
