    Default Samsung SGH-x640 "Limited Service"

A friend got her phone wet, its been taken apart and is now all dried out (very little in it anyway). Now when its switched on everything works fine ... except that it won't make/receive calls/sms. It get full signal, and after
a couple of minutes says "limited service".

Now its definitely not blocked as it was bought brand new at xmas. I've seen a couple of samsung threads on various forums saying that the IMEI is corrupt after flashing. Well it hasn't been flashed, and the number is exactly right according the label on the back.

Anybody help me out? I'm at a bit of a loss to be honest with anything other than Nokia

    Thanks

I would suggest that you get the handset treated correctly for the water damage. You may think all the water had gone but believe me it hasnt. This will very quickly corrode the components.

This may even solve the problem for you, or maybe it will need the sw repairing. Sony Ericssons can be bad for sw damage (blue screen) after water has been inside them.

With samsungs 9 times out of 10 water damage will kill the handset , if you know someone with a ultrasonic bath , get them to put your pcb in it then put the handset back together and reflash the software , if that dont work its f0*ked. Tell em to get a nokia they aint fussy about having a wash from time to time. If you need the flash and flashing software drop me a PM and i'll sort out a download link for you.

You'll need a com port E700 datacable , you can pick them up cheap on ebay , just make sure you get a serial com port one and not usb.
