Half Life 3 Xbox 360 Exclusive?

Rumour's are a funny thing. There are so many around that most are discarded quite quickly, but when one this big comes around you have to take notice.

It seems Microsoft may well be planning a big exclusive on the next Half Life game by pumping devlopers Valve with a big wad of cash. Of course a PC version is inevitable, Valve would never give Microsoft sole exclusivity like that, but as for console exclusivity you never know.

A XNA technology presentation for the Xbox 360 in spain had Valve's name accompanied by the title "Half Life 3" on one of the slides. This of course could just be a rumour, but the list also contains confirmed Xbox 360 releases so something in there is right.

The mere fact that Half Life 3 might be in development is exciting enough. That it might be an Xbox 360 exclusive is even better. This would be very bad news for the PS3 if this is the case as both Halo and Half Life are the biggest games in their genre. Sony are well known for exclusive titles appearing only on their consoles and it seems Microsoft is hoping to do the same.

MS really need to be thinking about getting some japanese exclusives as well as western ones.

Half Life 3 has always been the obvious next step for Valve - given how much they've invested in the Source Engine.
The Xbox 360 Dev kits have been around for a while now so it would be no surprise at all if Valve were developing on that platform. As for exclusivity - if it happens, I'd imagine that Valve would agree to an advance time-window of exclusivity only, and then release the game on other platforms.
Plus is this the main type of game Xbox are going to offer? FPS games forever? I do like FPS games but come on, give us new, original, and interesting exclusives please!

Would be nice to see such a biggie as an exclusive title, I think we may see more exclusivity as MS takes a leaf out of Sony's book.

Always nice to see major engine developement take the next gen plunge, be a sure fire hit as halo 3 i gotta admit i a am hungry for original material on the 360, though but its always nice to see a backbone to emerge as they do..

Will i weep openly when motorstorm hits the ps3 hmm..

yeah, that would just fook them right up, or maybe there going to bring out as many good games like halo 3 and HL3 on that day.
