help a newbie - Impreza mileage correction

Hi,
I am trying to correct the mileage of my imported Impreza (ie KM to Miles).

The speedo has been adjusted / changed & reads in MPH & clocks additional miles corectly, however it now looks like a high mileage car due to the original kms recorded.

I have obatained from Ebay a software package called MULTI DECODER which said just required additional serial cables (about �10) to do the job

Apprently this will read the hex, save it to a back up file, then create a new hex with the corrected figure & download it.

Anyone know where I can these cables, or the schematics to manufacture them (I used to work at a cable assembly company so can solder & have sources for the various connector types)?

Subaru imprezza has a 93c56 EEPROM within the cluster that holds the mileage. You will need a programmer that can read this device.

Once you have dumped your eeprom post the dump or edit it your self with your software.

I think your being a bit optimistic as to what the fleebay software will achieve, m8.

If your still not too confident get the job done by a pro. �80 or so will see it done no problem.
