According to BBC he's broke his leg and disolcated his ankle. It looked that way in the replays too.

Yep, confirmed on skysports too: http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?h...orts_home_page

AF says it's the worst injury he's ever seen, and he witnessed David Buusts injury that ended his carreer

looked nasty, always the standing leg that goes.....

what was lawrenson running on about risse's free kick hit his leg so hard it broke, yeah right!

hope he heals quick, never nice to see a player have that happen on any team.

I tore my ACL and am 6 weeks into recovery, it is really hard to keep positive and motiviate yourself to get better. Hope he gets well soon and is back on his feet doing what he loves.

Lawrenson's comments bemused me to be honest...think Smith literally sat on his own ankle/lower leg and fcuked em both...awful injuries

I'm suprised Smith didn't start the match.

He would have given the United midfield the bite it was lacking for the whole match.

Anyway, best wishes to Smith for a full recovery.

    Looks nasty.

Also baffled by the midfield strting line.. Richardson shouldnt ave played... should have been Smith and Park instead of Fletcher and Richardson...

Lawrenson is a c*ck... power of the shot. idiot!

Gonna be a lonnnnnnnng time nefore we see Smith return for Man U, hopefully by then we might need him for the position he supposed to play in...

im glad you all think lawrenson is a cock because he thought it was " the pure power" of the shot, although out of curiosity did how many of you noticed that he kept going on a bout his right leg and the injury could be serious because it was lose........

you may ask what my point is, well here you go.........

it was his LEFT leg, Lawrenson is indeed a cock!!
