has anyone tried it? what do you make of it? i dont really wanna install it until i find if its any good. Let someone else take the risk first.

It works reasonably well, and it uninstalls perfectly if you don't like it.
The only real problem I had with it was it seemed to "soften" the text on web pages to the point where it was annoying to look at (for me anyway).
Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it
I am running it along side Firefox. It's nothing special, if you like Firefox this won't rock your world in any way. It's just a browser.
I don't like the way I can't just click on a button to access my browsing history, I have to go through a menu.
It's dull, really.
Me and my fella spit our dummies out so we won't be coming back. ever. boo hoo.

i found that too... the new font they is using, or how it softens the text looks blurry to me after a whileOriginally Posted by Pegasus Team
other than that i quite like it
This will only run on SP2 XP editions.
phht...get bent then...
Shooooooo-ryuken!
after a bit of higgery jiggery pokery on my xp pro corp os i installed IE7 beta
apart from AVG anti virus going tits up, after i sorted that it runs fine and along with Opera its my browser of choice . Ive been running FF1.5 since it came out and compared with the previous FF i find it sometimes stalls and is a bit stodgy. I agree the look seems to be soft but im getting used to it now
mine wont validate... anything i can do?
I agree about the browsing history being a bit of a pain to get to - hopefully that'll be changed for the full release. I do like the Tab preview button though, the one that looks like 4 boxes. Press that and it shows all your tabs in one window. Very nice.
marcode - re. validation. I'm guessing you mean the validation to download the app right? Either try the alternative validation method (it's usually a text link at the bottom of the validation page), or get someone to mail you the installer?
cheers i will give it a whirl, even tho i get the send messege dnt send mesg box when IE wants to appear
no, the download worked fine... but when it installs it says the usual pish about a blocked volume license keyOriginally Posted by RogerMcLitty
fired it on the lappy (valid windows install), and tbh, im not impressed..
still as slow as ever, plus it appears to have fucked up all the buttons at the top of DF...
its better than old IE, slightly, and of course its still beta, but if this is the best MS can do... they are in big trouble in the browser market.

Personally, I've switched to IE7 over Firefox. There are afew little niggles I have with FF that MS have addressed in IE7.
The smooth text (ClearType) can be turned off, but as a TFT user, I quite like it.
My only gripe is that the pop-up blocker doesn't really work as well as the Firefox one.
There's afew CSS changes in IE7 which has broken alot of CSS site built for IE6. This is why the menu buttons in DF (and also NFOrce) are broken. It's more than likely that it'll be the CSS on DF (and others) that will need fixing, rather than a bug in IE7.

can anyone tell me how to sort this?Originally Posted by marcode
im sure i had to do it ages ago, but that was pre sp2 .. cant even install fooking windows defender (antispyware) on here cos the fooker keeps failing validation..
tia
there was a dll file that you could stick in the system/32 folder called LegitCheckControl.dll - that used to get round the validation - looks like M$ have got round folks getting round the validation so just have to wait until the next fix appearsOriginally Posted by marcode
wasnt that just the online validation checks tho?Originally Posted by Northernbloke
what about the checks the installers are doing, are they fooled by the same thing?
antispyware never used to have them, but you cant feckin get antispyware any more, only this windows defender thing now which checks when it installs... so i would really like to find a way to fix this ..
no this is the same thing as the validation check m8 - when u run the ie7beta2 intaller it performs a validation check - that would normally have passed with the cracked LegitCheckControl.dll file, but it looks like M$ have found a way to check for the cracked file.
If you check some of the public torrent sites you'll find cracked versions of both IE 7 beta 2 and Windows Defender beta 2 floating about.
r good thinking batman, never even thought to check. +kOriginally Posted by RogerMcLitty
