anyone actually using an external usb hd for mp3's etc on the 360??

i have a 160 gig ide hd in an ectrnal caddy, i've formatted it in fat 32 using 3 diffrerent progs but it still won't see it.

can somebody post what prog/app they used and any pointers as its not working for me

Mine works fine, but its formatted in NTFS,
haven't tried a FAT32 partition with the 360, that might be the problem.

i used to use my archos gmini and that was fine, now ive networked my pc to the 360 it just streams them.

I plugged my Sony Ericsson W900i into it yesterday and it dragged all the pictures off it, which impressed me alot

My flatmate has an Archos player (Cant remember the exact model) but the xbox 360 does not support it for MP3 playback!! Weird thing is it acts like a USB hard drive on a PC!

iPod's work (albeit not the copyrighted stuff) okay

Personally though I prefer to stream off one of the many PCs that are scattered around my gaff.
