These will be the Diga/DashFixer clones from http://www.gsmunlock.com/equipment/tacho_universal.html

£6000 US Dollars (£3,400 ish) if you look at their pricelist.

Be interesting to see feedback on a unit as I've heard all sorts of rumours about it.

Probably none if you buy from gsmunlockers. When you pay your £'s to DashFixer or whoever it is important to note that the hardware and software is not the only thing you are buying. It is the technical support as well.

The Copy units WILL erase any job you do, even if you are sold a working unit, it will eventually get a message saying "update handheld" and this message will get longer and longer until the machine comes to a stop or is updated, after updating the machine will have the erasing update installed, then every job you do will be a dead car.

Sorry but it's our right to protect our SW

The GSM Unlock guys bit off more than they could chew this time round.

Also we shall replace ALL Dashfixer units free of charge when the new machine is ready and switch off all old machines, which means even if the clones never update they will never be able to have new SW (this free machine applies to Dashfixer Only)

Let me get this straight - Is it true to say that these GSMUNLOCK machines are an illegal copy of the Dashfixer / DigaConsult? They sure look identical anyway going by the pictures on their site ( using the link in the above posts).

And going by Dashfixers statement, is it correct that these clone machines are somehow sneakily downloading "updating" software from the Dashfixer website? Very 'cloak and dagger' stuff there! Crafty buggers.......

Surely they must have their own system for updating and releasing software updates?

These clone diga units are not not legit. You will get no official support if you buy one. I've not heard any feedback from anyone who has bought one but I guess the next month or so will shed light on the situation and we'll all know a whole lot more. It does seem that at the time of the hack the upgrade server was quite open, but it would be crazy if this situation continues and I'm sure it will not for long.

Clone units can now be bought for as little as ~£4k but price is not everything.
