I get free annual travel insurance with my bank account so don't buy it any more..

www.GoTravelInsurance.co.uk
www.1stoptravelinsurance.co.uk
www.asdafinance.com/travel-insurance
www.atlasdirect.net
I last used HSBC, didn't really shop aroud though since it was only £6 for a week in europe.
Don't forget to get an E111 if you haven't already. (for anywhere in europe that is)

Check out your own bank! Depending on which type of account you have you may be covered automatically.
The Royal Bank of Scotland Royalties Current Account automatically provides worldwide travel insurance for the card holder. For an additional premium you can add family members at a reasonable rate.
Some of the other banks LloydsTSB etc offer similar products
You could also have a look at www.insureandgo.com The cover is quite extensive and reasonably cheap.
