Default Blue Peter Badges - bothered! :)

Beeb attacks evil trade in Blue Peter badges
The BBC is fighting to have auctions of its famous Blue Peter badges removed from eBay.

The badges - which can only be awarded by the kids' TV show to youngsters who "contribute to the programme" - confer on the holder the right to free entry to a range of tourist attractions. It appears that Edinburgh Zoo played a key role in exposing the evil trade after staff "became suspicious of an increase in badge-holding visitors, including one family where every child had one". Accordingly, the zoo has temporarily suspended free entry...(more)

Blue Peter ID Cards for pesky kids
BBC bosses are mulling plans to issue Blue Peter ID cards in place of the coveted badges awarded to kids who prove their lickspittle credentials to producers of the hit TV show.

The Beeb is understood to have tabled the initiative using emergency powers granted under the Prevention of Antidisestablishmentarianism Act (1869), in an effort to bring wayward children back under the corporation's control.

It is understood that BBC security men, investigating the innocent sale of a few Blue Peter Badges on legitimate auction websites, uncovered far more widespread contempt for the corporation's values than feared.

The legitimate internet auctions, where the badges have fetched up to £50 a time, are just the tip of the iceberg...(more)

got/had a blue peter badge when I was younger...not sure where it is now.

I remember mine was green (one of the conservation ones) and I got it for writing some bollocks when I was in year 6 of primary school (so a while ago now).

    Just read this

"Blue Peter has withdrawn perks for holders of its famous ship-emblem badges after it emerged that they were being sold on eBay.

The programme said that the move to cancel free access for badge holders to UK visitor attractions was temporary. But its decision has not stopped bidding on the auction site eBay.

The sale of the badges has sparked controversy, with former Blue Peter presenters Peter Duncan and Janet Ellis criticising the fact that they are being bought by parents to get their children free access into attractions."

With the prices the badges were going for, you'd be cheaper just paying to get into the attractions! and whats exactly wrong with selling them? :/ unless your selling fakes..
