I read 2 reguarly.... practical photo & digital photo:

I find both easy to read and reasnobly good for gear reviews.... th etutorials in digital photo are quite good too.
There maybe some samples on the web site.

Given the choice of one though.... I'd go for digital photo.

I used to buy Digital Photographer, but have got really bored of it lately, they just keep on baging on about Landscape this lanscape that.. Blah Blah blah, the same old stuff over and over. I ave started reading Amateur Photgrapher and it's good, but in all honesty, just keep taking loads and loads of shots, you'll get better overtime, also keep an eye out for local night classes or a weekend course at your local college.. I did one ages ago and it taught me more in a few evening classes than any magazine could do..

If you must read magazines, then read ones that relate to your strongest area of photography, I am about embark of a summer long tour of VW shows near me and hopefully try and get a couple of shots either printed in a mag or used online by one of the clubs, so for me I've been reading back issues of old VW mags and finding out what style of photogrpahy they tend to use. Trying to emulates someone elses style is the best way to find your own. Ok, photography mag may help you learn about your camera, but reading up on a subject and getting out there and just shooting is the best thing possible...

whilst on the point of digital photo mag, I sent away for and got the lowepro minitrekker aw for 50 quid and it is a total bargain although I have blacked out the digital photo logo..how silly to sell rucksacks that tell all the world what is in your backpack.
a good mag to read though.

I find Digital Camera has some interesting articles.

I also get Photography Monthly but after a year of subscription it starting to get a bit repetitive now.
