Obviously, I can only express what I have mate.. I got an xda 2 pda/phone (now worth about £120). got the tomtom 'software' free (Like you do)..car kit from ebay which is a all in one cradle/charger/gps thingy (£80) 'Holux cradle' it's called.. worth every penny. you could go the Garmin route or tom tom go thing which is dedicated for a similar price, but I like the versatality of an all in one personally.

Got driven home from the airport actually by a car company who have those - must say I was very impressed however I only really saw the basic navigation functions, no extra items turned on, no voice instructions etc - also isn't cheap....

Afaik m8 the 700 is to be replaced by the 710 unit so it might be worth hanging out for a little while.

Depends how much you wanna spend mate. My mobile does the trick for me, as does the Garmin i3 that I have, but if you have money to burn or drive a lot then go for a touchscreen model with a bigger screen.

Like others have said, you can not go wrong with a TomTom.
