Default Out of Ebay auction help.

Not really sure where to put this. But here goes

I recently advertised something on EBay, which didn't sell. However a had a message from a user saying he missed the auction can he buy it privately over pay pal. I said of course.

He sent payment around 10 days later (after advising me he had to use his friends pay pal account as his was waiting on verification)

I sent the item to him as described on the auction.

I received an email saying that some things were missing from the item and he would like his money back and he would return the item to me.

Where do I stand with this, naturally I don’t want the item back (hence selling it) and I sold it as advertised and send all the items it was auctioned with.

If he decides to take this further, where would I stand? As to me it sounds dodgy like if I return payment he will not return payment. But the point being I don’t want it returned as I sold it in the first place.

Just a question on this, where do I stand now? Does he have a leg to stand on? There is nothing he can claim from Pay pal because I sent the item, and have receipt and confirmation of him receiving it.

    Any advice lads?

You shouldn't have done this 'off ebay' as you are now not covered by their protection.

If it had been done on ebay I would tell him to fuck off as he got what you advertised and if he was stupid enough to not read the listing then bollocks to him. As it isn't then you have just done what you would do in loot or somewhere and draw their attention to what was advertised and tell them you supplied the stuff in good faith expecting him to actually read what was being sold. Then tell them to fuck off.

Theres always a claim through paypal if you havn't deposited the funds into your bank yet (and its gone through), he could do this if you don't agree.

In my opinion, explain to him its what you advertised originally, and if he really doesn't want to have any of it then its your choice whether you want to return it or not, i would probably return it if i could easily sell it again, but by the looks of the thread its not.

Hi Erad, The money is in my bank account now.

If he is trying to have me on. I don't want to chance it sending it back.

As he may then just take my cash and not returnd the unit like.

If he as contacted you after an eBay auction and requested you sell him the goods privately then as long as you have all correspondence including his ref to you advert then I would not issue a refund as long as you have supplied as advertised, I really cant see him having any rights for a refund.

If you want to refund him, then ask him to return it via an insured recorded service and once you are in receipt and can verified the goods have been return in the way in which they were supplied you will issue a refund.

As long as the money is in your bank account, paypal cannot get it back, tell him to fuck off as he has no proof that you even sold it to him
