PES 5 problems connecting to network

just bought this and a PS2 controller convertor.

Trying to connect on-line but getting a message about "port 5730"

Anyone get same problems ......... I`ll post full message soon.

ok full message

"Unable to transmit using UDP port 5730.
You may need to connect directly to internet or adjust your connection device IE router setting etc.
Assign DMZ,Port Mapping, Configure NAT table and other router settings"

Gents......... I am thick as fu$k when it comes to PC so please explain as tho talking to a 5 year old please

Hello mate.

Do you have a firewall on your network? It sounds like the firewall is blocking the connection to the web.

Open the port specified throught the router if it is a hardware firewall. Windows firewall *should* automatically ask if you want to allow it to connect, but if your screen is maximised then you might not see the message.

Running it on BT Broadband and MS 2K, I did get a message about PES5.exe trying to connect to internet but I clicked "allow always"

pro evo isnt on there tho

It says about setting up a static IP if the game isnt there but looks a bit complex to me !! plus will it have a knock on effect on other things IE downloading etc ??

Yea you should setup a static IP on your netowrk, then just forward the port listed. There should be a general guide of how to do this.

It only really takes a couple of minutes to do, and then you can get taught a lesson in Football from the grand master.

got it all sorted. BT gave me a new 210 Voyager and it works a treat..................... cant stop playing PES !!!!

Ive got a voyager 205 and its a bad router to do port forwarding in my opinion, i have changed to a linksys now and its a much more user freindly Modem/Router to configure for games and apps.
