Forgotten windows xp password

a friend as just phoned and says he changed his logon password and now cant get on to his pc.
dose any one know a way around this with out wiping the hard drive (i think it is xp home)

You could try booting into safe mode & logging in as administrator (providing he hasn`t set a pass on that).

Then change his user password.

jep, and if he has disabled the administrator account, there is special software. However, let he first checks under the safe mode for administrator account.

had it for a while good stuff

the other way is to use a linux boot disc ,does much the same as winternals
