Ok,
Silicon Sata 3112 controller.
Intel ICHR5 Controller
Tried both, even the bios saw the one on the Intel board but no matter what Windows kept crashing and the SLAX CD didn't want to stick it in Mode B
My solution? USE THE POXY CROSSED WIRE METHOD
Works straight away, I didn't need to download a 200mb disc either.
At least it did on the Intel, never bothered to check with the Silicon 3112 one, depends if I end up doing another one or not.
I know there are some haters out there of the Silicon one but I've actually heard a couple say it works..onboard anyway, so rule out the Mode B problem first. At least you know for SURE with the crossed wire method, the 360 light flashes rapidly.
Lets face it most don't have a fcuking clue what we are doing, me included.
