Speed Bumps or Speed Cameras?

I am absoluetly sick of speed bumps, so much so, that I'll even go half way round town so I can avoid them.

So I was wondering, if you could get rid of one OR the other (like Room 101) which would it be?

Speed bumps?
or
Speed Cameras?

i hate them both, neither of them work.

the worst thing about speedbumps is people who go over them at 0mph. there are a few in a carpark at the local shops and its so fucking annoying when your engine starts stuttering away because you are going so slowly behind some mum in her massive 4x4 offroad vehicle and you have to do all sorts of annoying things like going into first and pressing the clutch and generally arsing around for no fucking reason at all. other than the mums in their 4x4s the worst for that are definitly guys in nice cars. they seem to think that the speedbump is going to damage their beatiful car, when in actual fact if you are driving too fast to safely go over a speed bump in a carpark full of pedestrians then you are being a cunt anyway so it doesnt really matter

for cameras folk just cruise along at 90 then slow down when they see the cameras, then get pissed off becuase they were just innocently breaking the law when a camera that they didnt notice pops up legally and gets them a fine. the cameras dont make people slow down in general and are just another distraction for drivers to think about

coz you only slow down for the actual bump for the road in the middle you put ya foot down to make up the time loast by going slow over them in the 1st place imo

Bumps they ruin the suspension on your car. A car,s suspension aint desined to take so many bumps and such high bumps as the councils put in.

Although on the other hand - least you'll never get 3 points on your license and have to pay 60quid for going over a speed bump.

no point complaining about the speed bumps or speed cameras, should be pissed off with the councils that feel the need to put the fucking things everywhere rather than where they are needed.

The only place speed bumps and cameras need to be are real accident blackspots and near schools. That way if you fuck up your suspension by going over a bump too quickly or get caught speeding you deserve it cause you're a cunt. =]

I would get rid of camera, cos as mentioned earlier, bumps don't give you points/fine.

Also I remember borrowing a mate's Citroen BX years ago that cost him about �15. Whilst driving it, someone pointed out the adjustable suspension to me. I thought deck it to improve the handling, but instead it just used to bounce like mad. The fun we had driving it like that doing 60 over speedbumps was brilliant, it would bounce all over the place, real challenge to stay in control of the thing.

Bet they never forsaw that happening when they put the bumps down!

Nope, but in the case of my Dads rover, go over a speed bump faster than 5mph and your whole underside gets torn and the suspension nackered.

But i'd prefer the damage than the points.

Id rather have bumps, As I could adapt my car to travel over speed bumbs at normal speeds for the area, as aposed for 7mph over the bumps

cameras cos i only ride a bike and the half bumps i go round and the full size dont effect me at the speed limit, unless there the evil high 1s or squared shaped

Speed bumps for me, I dont slow down for them anyway in the van, everything in the back jumps I dont care. they have put them in round the streets near us but not our street as its cobbles. I dont mind the big ones and the "pillows" little squares as they fit between the wheels and I dont feel them.

id get rid of both. but if i had to choose i would pick the cameras, simply because of the points - u'l be paying for them long after uve got ur suspension fixed.

Having sed that, some speed bumps are FUCKED. basically like giant toblerone :S
