    Good reasons. I only realised after i'd posted and done a bit of searching that it had the Konica Minolta fittings.

    Looks like a very nice camera and as you say lots of very good lenses in the back catalogue too.

    I'll be expecting some even better stuff now.

    Canon G9 with a Crumpler pouch.

    Still got the Ixus 500 but have given it to Poppy now.

    After a bit of wheeling dealing ,i pick up a D3 on thursday ,with a AFS 24-70 f2.8 G ED lens ,and got a 60mm f2.8D AF Micro lens thrown in ,be able to compare the D40 and the D3 at the weekend and will post a few results for those interested .

    Recently got into this and with much research decided on:

    Canon EOS 400D
    Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 (kit lens)
    Canon 17-85mm EF-S f/4.0-5.6 IS USM - Like this a lot!
    Silicon Power 4GB 200x CF card


    Looking at a Lowepro backpack, Orion 2 treker possibly, also a tripod as well but have no idea on which ones are best?

    Filters yet to come!
