I had a go with the 'See how much GB you need', it said I need Bt Broadband Option 4........there is no option 4, well the page is blank anyway. Good start eh lol

Just out of interest I thought I'd chaeck what speed I could get......

    Check availability - results

For Postcode **** *** on Exchange KEMPSTON

Our initial test on your phone line indicates that you should be able to have BT Broadband with a likely maximum speed of up to 4.5Mb (Megabits per second).

They can stick that right up their hairy hubs!

BT have gone with the total package way of things, they must have realised they are saving so much money now Im no longer with them on bandwidth use that they can give 250 minutes of BT Openzone access with their packages. The 2nd number is a good thing especially if your house has a very busy phone line.
TV via the connection is a gimik I can get it via an aerial. It would be interesting to see how much bandwidh is used by this and when other hardware is required how does it connect to the TV?
Wireless access everyone seems to want this, why especailly when most of the time people have the pc next to the phone line. Its useful for me with a pc upstairs and a laptop I use anywhere.

Would I go for a home hub? nope as I would have to go back to a cap of upto 40GB and that is no good.

never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups!

I got stiched up by BT they upgraded my conection to 8 Meg unlimited download (which was Option 4) and they gave me a voyager 2500 router which cost me £40 (supply your own phone!). One month later they brought out the wireless hub with phone built in and they dropped my package to 40Gb a month d/l limit (Option 3) but they won't give me a hub and they are giving them away free to upgrades and new connections.

These new BT Hubs are really unreliable. I know of three that have died in the past month or two. One actually went up in flames - self cremation ?

business wise its a very smart move for BT, and more connectivity around cant be a bad thing, unless the prices slowly climb, then its no so good

Love the hardware, although i recently experianced bt's india broadband tech support desk, and it truly was horrific. I spoke to 3 different guys who I could barely understand at all, nevermind discussing my technical problems.

I recall a time not so long ago when BT were second to none for customer support, now I find I couldnt recommend them to anyone.

Roll on the time when they realise the cost of outsourcing to india is a lot larger than employee's hourly rate

well I moved house and got one of these, very mac like to me its nicer than the frogs they used to supply

however they were meant to connect me on the 3rd of october and still waiting today, the indian tech support is truly shocking absolutely shocking, they just get you to to tell them the status of the lights and then say you connection doesnt work, no shit batman why do you think I am calling you.

Would not recommend BT to any one anymore despite having been with them for nearly 5 years in which they had provided a faultless service, we really need to boycott any company that uses these call centres especially for something like tech support
