i was told by the girl i spoke to that i could only get 2 meg but i stated that a girl on bt up the road achived between 6-8 meg ( was a little white lie ), she told me that she couldnt get that acording the the site but i told her the sites are often wrong and that the exchange was due to be upgraded and has i am only down the road from it i should get a nice 12 meg when it does.
she said that all she could do me was £17.50 for 3 months and to ring back then (im on tw)

ring back and tell them you know someone getting faster than they state and you want your discount like your m8 or you are getting in contact with them and having everything switched over. tell her that when everything is completed you will ring up and give your notice, and by that time there will be no getting you back because you will have entewred into a contract.

trust me you will get your discount

I just phoned them up, he gave me alot of tech slaver about needing to subscribe to sly tv + having a B* line, so i played the dumb blonde thing and just let him waffle on, he claimed that the 16m service is "UPTO" 16 meg which at peak times dont hit 2 meg. i listened to this crap for a few minutes. then i said so what can you do for me
I got 3 months free internet then it goes down to 19-99 a month after this and i get free telephone monthly billing which was £11 month also for 3 months, after that it goes down to £5 a month

I phoned earlier today and instantly got offered:- free talk unlimited 24 plan which was costing me £13.99, TV family pack dropped from £30.50 to £19.50 and the 4Mb BB dropped from £24.99 to £12.50.

Total package has dropped from £69.48 to £32.00 saving £37.48 by my calculation.

I was on the 1mb for £9.99per mth which had just ran out and they had bumped it up to £17.50.

Just read this thread and gave them a ring and basicly said i was thinking of moving to sky bb due to price, he instantly offered me 4mb for £12.50 or 10mb for £17.50..
I wen't for the 4mb for £12.50 being the tight arse i am he said it will take effect within the next 4 to 5 hours...

Just foned them to cancel. told em sky was offering better and they said ok ...
She put me through to someone else who was going to cancel and he was going to cancel , but needed my mum ( here account) on the fone to cancel ( even though I knew her pass etc)
I asked why he cant match sky and give me a better deal etc , but he started telling me that skys 16meg would probably only give about 1 meg ??
and that ntls 2 meg will be going upto 10 meg in January
So he said to get my mum to fone back and he would cancel

Good grief, that was long winded...

Only got Broadband with Telewest (heck, same company), been paying £25 per month for 4 meg.

After over half an hour of ear bending (Sky Broadband is rubbish, will only get 2 Meg, go to www.samknows.com to check this etc) I was offered my Broadband for half price, only if I would take their telephone line (although this was also half price).... for 3 months.

Top and bottom of it: Got phone line with 4 meg broadband (also free digital tv for the bedroom, seeing as I've got Sky downstairs) is costing £18 for first 3 months, £30 thereafter. Not a big saving long term (£5 per month on phone line) BUT op also said once the 3 months is up phone us again and all our offers will still be available to you as an existing customer.
