    Default Ipod mini battery replacement?

Anyone put a new battery in their ipod? I got my ipod second hand, (For those of you who remember... Let's not get into that again ) so can't really say if the battery life has diminished much or not. It doesn't last as long as I'd like though- or as long as I think it should.

I found this page that looks ok.- http://www.sonnettech.com/product/ip...ies/index.html

    Any help comments apreciated.

you can get batteries off ebay or direct from apple (they have to fit them tho)

Sonnet (the link you posted) are well respected in the mac community you can bet that their products will be top top quality

The batteries are easy to fit (tools included) , but you have to be carefull taking off the top and bottom endcaps (they are held on by something thats like very sticky double sided tape.

I changed the battery in both my 3G iPods and it was a piece of piss. Hardest part is getting the thing open, you basically got to press the iPod with a bit of pressure and you will hear a little pop and see a little slit where the plastic meets the metal. The supplied tools I got with the batteries were crap in my opinion but I found a guitar plectrum was best for the job.

I got a Newer Tech battery from http://www.ipoddoctor.co.uk/ they also offer a service to change it for you as well if you're not feeling confident.

Shit! I was all set to get one from the link I posted, but they don't send stuff to the UK. Doh!

I found instructions on how to do it here- http://www.ipoddoctor.co.uk/pdfs/ipo...fitting72a.pdf
Seems pretty easy, but I've got big slab hands and also a tendancy to break stuff I'd really like not to break I might get in touch with your mate Malty, does he use top noch batteries?

    *EDIT*
Prolly get one from one of these two ebay guys- http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/sear...h+ipod+battery

    Cheers.
