    Hi
are you sending the money to someone you know?
if you are western union is fine and takes no time what so ever
and is easy to set up online with your credit/debit card.
if you dont know the person DO NOT send via western union as there are no comebacks when the money has been collected.
    hope this helps m8

Just checked Western Unions website for you

Estimate cost to send £600 to Australia is £42!!

    But..it also says this

"The maximum initial send amount for a money transfer is £500.00 or £999.99 per 30 days depending on your transaction history with westernunion.co.uk."

So you'd need to send it in two installments by the looks of it.

    It also says

"Sending from United Kingdom: Senders must present an acceptable document(s) showing evidence of identity for amounts over £600."

By the looks of it, the transfer is nearly instant

"Approved transactions generally available for pick-up right away (subject to the hours of operation at the receiving Agent location)"

You can do it online/over the phone or at a WU office (i'd play safe and find a post office that does it, instead of a dodgy corner shop lol)

I hope your not sending it to a Nigerian barristers australian accomplice

    Hope that helps

About a 7% fee according to my calculations lol

Hmm, maybe worth looking at moneygram? i'd imagine the fees would be similar though.

Or even an electronic ticket in his name and maybe fax/email him the details (not sure if it works like that, but a thought).

Your best bet if using WU is to find a travel agents or a post office that is a registered WU place, the fees are a bit steep but the time in which you can collect is pretty good.

looked into that allready when u buy from a uk company for a pickup in oz it works out shit loads more, if i buy from lastminute.com.au which is cheap he needs the card that was used to buy the ticket to collect the ticket so gonna send cash to him easier in the long run
